gunainaja is a portal of free online utility tools built for everyday digital tasks — BMI calculator, age calculator, due date calculator, discount calculator, PDF & image tools, and more. All free, no install, no signup, and most tools process files directly in your browser without uploading to any server.
Our mission
We believe good online utility tools should be:
- Accessible to anyone, without subscriptions, usage limits, or account signup requirements.
- Private by default. PDFs, images, and sensitive documents are processed client-side in your browser, never sent to our servers.
- Fast and lightweight. Not 500 MB desktop apps you need to install. Just open a browser tab and use them.
- Honest about limitations. If a tool has a 90% fidelity ceiling (like our Word to PDF converter), we tell you upfront rather than overselling.
The story behind gunainaja
gunainaja was born from a personal frustration. As freelancers and small business owners in Indonesia, we constantly needed simple tools for daily work: compress an ID card photo to fit an online form's 500 KB limit, generate a QR code for a menu, calculate BMI for a health check, or estimate a mortgage payment.
Most tools we found were either:
- Loaded with intrusive ads that made the actual tool hard to use
- Locked basic features behind subscription paywalls ($10-30/month for occasional use)
- Applied arbitrary file size limits (25 MB free) that no longer match modern devices where a single phone photo is 5-10 MB
- Uploaded personal data to overseas servers without clear privacy guarantees
Originally built for Indonesian users, we've since expanded to English for universal tools like BMI, age, due date, and discount calculators — the math is language-agnostic and useful globally.
How we build and select tools
Every tool on gunainaja is filtered through 3 criteria:
- Real user need. We check search trends, community forums, and user feedback to make sure the tool we're building is actually wanted.
- Client-side capable. We prioritize tools that can run fully in the browser without server upload. This is the best privacy guarantee we can offer.
- Regularly updated. Tools that depend on regulations (tax rates, mortgage rates, health guidelines) are updated when authoritative sources publish changes.
Editorial standards for blog posts
Our blog is not just SEO content. Every article:
- Is researched from primary sources (WHO for health, government agencies for tax/regulation, industry standards) with links embedded in the article
- Includes concrete calculation examples with real numbers
- Is reviewed every 6 months or when regulations change
- Never uses purely AI-generated content. All articles have human editorial review with local context that generic AI can't provide
Milestones
- July 2026: Soft launch with 12 tools and 2 blog posts (Indonesian audience focus)
- July-August 2026: Expanded to 19 tools + 27 blog posts. Added health tools (BMI, due date), finance (net salary, electricity, discount), image AI (background removal), PDF (Word to PDF)
- August 2026: English expansion. 4 universal tools + 4 English blog posts.
- Roadmap: User accounts + history, more tools (password generator, JSON formatter, unit converter), API integrations with logistics and banking
Our values
- Privacy first. Most tools process files client-side. PDFs, images, and other data never leave your browser. We don't store per-user usage history (until you opt-in to premium cloud history later).
- Free forever. Basic tools will always be free. Premium tier (upcoming) is for batch processing, cloud history, and advanced features — but the free version stays fully functional. We won't retroactively lock free features.
- Fast & light. No heavy apps to install. Tool pages load in ~2 seconds on 4G connections.
- Transparent limitations. If our tool has known quality caps (Word to PDF ~90%, BMI doesn't account for muscle mass), we say so on the tool page. No overselling.
Business model
We're transparent about how gunainaja stays financially sustainable:
- Google AdSense on blog pages only (not on tool pages, to keep the tool experience clean). These ads fund infrastructure and development.
- Premium tier (planned) for users needing batch processing, cloud history, and advanced features. Free tier stays fully usable.
- Sponsorships / partnerships relevant to our audience (banking for mortgage calculators, shipping services for logistics). Any partnership will be clearly disclosed.
